Tai Chi for beginners

‍ ‍‍ ‍Tai chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that is also referred to as a moving meditation. Its gentle, yet dynamic movements are typically circular and never forced, keeping the muscles and joints supple. Tai chi is recommended by the National Arthritis Foundation. When practiced regularly, its health benefits include:

~  improves physical balance and flexibility;

       ~  strengthens tendons and joints;

       ~  improves cognitive functioning; and

       ~  reduces stress and anxiety.

LinDel teaches a 13-movement short form of Yang Style tai chi as developed by Grandmaster Mantak Chia. She teaches in a light, non-intimidating way and thoroughly believes, “if you can pat your head and rub your belly at the same time, you can learn tai chi.”

This class can be adapted for almost anyone, from the most fit to someone recovering from surgery.
