Class Descriptions

Tai Chi for Beginners

In this Tai Chi beginner class you will learn the 13-movement short form of Yang Style tai chi as developed by Grandmaster Mantak Chia. The Tai Chi for Beginners class can be adapted for almost anyone, from the most fit to someone recovering from surgery.

Tai Chi Level II

In this Tai Chi Level II class, we will continue practicing the same movements learned in the Beginner Level and then quickly progress to practicing the opposite direction movements to fully complete Master Chia's 13-movement form, Tai Chi Chi Kung.

In addition, we will be adding deeper energetic layers such as:

   *  Yin and Yang breathwork for each movement

   *  increased focus on rooting & chi ball practice

   *  connecting with the colors, animals, organs & elements in each direction, (for instance, North is Blue Turtle & Deer, Kidney, Water)

Tai chi

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art that is also referred to as a moving meditation. Its gentle, yet dynamic movements are typically circular and never forced, keeping the muscles and joints supple. Tai chi is recommended by the National Arthritis Foundation. When practiced regularly, its health benefits include:

*  improves physical balance and flexibility

       *  strengthens tendons and joints

       *  improves cognitive functioning

       *  reduces stress and anxiety

LinDel teaches in a light, non-intimidating way and thoroughly believes, “if you can pat your head and rub your belly at the same time, you can learn tai chi.”
